Research into the body/mind connection has shown that the emotions we feel today, and those we’ve experienced all through our lives, are stored in our glands, organs, tissues and cells. We tend to categorize feelings as “good” or “bad” and only want to experience the pleasant ones… But emotions are energy in motion and they need to flow. Anger, Sadness, Fear, Unworthiness, Grief and all other unwanted feelings actually need to be felt to be released. We’ve been conditioned to repress and push them away but the body always keeps a score. Eventually those repressed feelings we don’t want to face can manifest as physical symptoms, mental issues, disassociation, unhealthy patterns.
In today’s world it’s easy to find a distraction and look away from our problems, therefore dismissing them and never actually processing.
